As a Moncton, NB lifestyle and documentary photographer, I am naturally drawn to the real, organic and raw moments in life.  I love my newborn sessions because babies grow faster in this stage than at any other and I feel that it is important to document this time so it doesn't blur past you.

I also enjoy my newborn or in home lifestyle sessions because I get to come to you.  We shoot where you are the most comfortable, with your surroundings and your own stuff so that means no packing and lugging baby stuff across town to a studio (babies require a lot of packing and lugging...I remember!)

I am drawn to detail shots and seek to create a storytelling series for you.  I want to know the precious little moments that you are afraid to forget or are going to break your heart as you come to the harsh realization that your kids are never going to be this small or this young ever again.  Do your babies: suck their thumb/fingers, have a favorite lovey or blanky, refuse to wear pants, climb all over the furniture, hide in weird places, love to cuddle, have a special place to nurse or play with your hair while she nurses...  Does your baby love animals?  Is she attached to your hip all day every day?  What do these moments mean to you?  Maybe it's nothing in particular, maybe it's everything.  If that's the case, then we are a match made in heaven!

As we hang out during your session, we'll get the posed family shots that you want but I will also pay close attention to the in between moments...you know, the moments that you are drawn to in your old family albums when you flip through and think "oh, there's grandma knitting socks in her old wooden rocking chair...and there's grandpa kicked back in his old leather lazy boy having snoring away while grandma talks his ear off"  or  "Here we are one Christmas: Johnny and Reggie are fighting over the dinky cars, Sally is trying to nurse her new baby doll and our old cat Felix is climbing the Christmas tree"  Those are the old memories that are sure to bring a smile to your face.  While posed photos are nice to have, the candid/documentary photos are always more meaningful because those are the ones that you can relate to the most.

I have a few kids of my own, so wiping boogers and changing diapers and temper tantrums is nothing new to me!  These things are all part of the everyday life with kids.

Let's work together to create something more than digital images which live on Facebook and your hard drive.  Hard drives fail and Facebook will not be around forever.  So let's get this started!  I can't wait for you to tell me your ideas for your new family album  :)
