Some of my favorite events to photograph are small, intimate weddings. You know, the ones where you feel like part of the family by the time you leave at the end of the night?! This country wedding was exactly like that! We met at the house for a few portraits before heading to the venue at Blueberry Hill Farms just outside of Moncton in Elgin, NB. Congratulations Melissa & Bruce! XO
This session is a bit of a hybrid; it's a newborn + lifestyle family session! I got together with this beautiful family to document the moments that make this time in their lives special. With a brand new baby boy and a 2 year old little girl (and I haven't forgotten Ebony the Black Lab!) these guys have a lot going on in their day to day lives and I wanted to create images that were reflective of this time for them.
To document their current lifestyle with their new baby, we spent most of our time quietly hanging out in the playroom and living room. Big sister wanted to show me a few things in the playroom, so we started in there and let her lead the rest of the session. Baby G hardly made a sound the entire time so he was pretty cool with the whole process!
I must say though, that big sister totally stole my heart! I cannot believe that she is only 2! She is quite the character. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and her family.
Got some pretty sweet news in my inbox today :) A few of my photos finished in the top 3.5% of the Shoot and Share 2016 Photo Contest! Yay!!! I have to wait until the end of the week to see which of my images made the cut but until then, I'm thrilled to be a finalist! There was 225,000 images submitted to the contest from all over the world.
Horses have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. So when my momma asked if I could take some photos of them with their horses, I was all for it! Mom said she had never had a photo taken with her and her horse that she really loved. That made me sad and set the bar really high!Read More
I am so completely excited to say that I got my acceptance letter yesterday! I am now a member of the CMPro! This means that my images meet a high industry standard and that I can consistently produce images to meet this standard!Read More
Once again I got to travel back to Elgin, NB to photograph a family session. It has got to be one of the most beautiful spots in NB. Late in the fall, the maple trees hang low on each side of the road forming a gorgeous archway of fall foliage to drive through! I love this place. This day, after I drove through the archway of maple trees, I pulled into the Stile's farm. This is what our afternoon looked like:Read More
I've had this friend for as long as I can remember. She's the kind of friend that you get into mischief with when you are young and who will take the fall for you if the moment calls for it (thank you!) The one who always has your back even when life gets busy. Do you know what I mean? One of those special friends that you can go a long time with out talking to each other but easily pick up where you left off the next time you meet for coffee!Read More
I really wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived for this lifestyle family session in Elgin, NB. I had been there before (It's my favorite place to drive around aimlessly!) but I wasn't so sure about how early the sun disappeared behind the mountain in the evening. I was actually very nervous; I know that mom was excited for the family session and I didn't want to disappoint her.Read More
When I first spoke with this gorgeous momma, I told her about my desire to do a documentary newborn session. I told her all of the details that are so important at this stage and how I felt like the majority of it swirls into a blur or days, diapers, tears and spilled milk. The moments spend rocking, nursing, snuggling a new baby soon disappear and I don't know about you but the older my kids get, the less I remember unless I have something to help me trigger the memory.Read More
Baby Beckett is here! He kept everyone waiting for quite a while. His Nanny and Uncle flew home from Alberta to be here for his birth but he was just too shy and wanted to stay tucked inside! So, flights were changed and the family waited! He finally did decide to come out and meet his family before they had to go back out west.Read More
Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Tara, I'm a Moncton based lifestyle photographer. My business has just opened and thankfully, I have had wonderful clients to keep me busy! Although my business is new, rest assured that I am not new to photography. I have studied, researched, attended conferences and taken courses consistently since 2009. I have put a ridiculous amount of time into learning all aspects about lifestyle and documentary photography. I love that there is always something to learn and a new technique to master.Read More
