The Lookout Spot ~ Moncton Photographer Tara Geldart

When Amanda booked her wedding photography package with me we talked about the engagement session that is included in the package.  She told me that they had already had engagement photos years ago but every time they tried to plan a wedding a baby came along!  So the best option for these guys was to have a family photography session instead!

We met in Magnetic Hill, Moncton, NB at the "Lookout Spot".  The kids kept me on my toes and they even threw in a few dog kisses and wet willies for comic relief!

Their big day is coming up very quickly...check back in near the end of September to check out their Moncton, wedding photos!

Don't Miss a Moment ~ The importance of Telling Your Family's Story

I bet I am not alone here...I say it all of the time and I hear others say it as well....my babies are growing up way too quickly.  They are changing everyday and they have these little quirky things about them that I know are not going to last very long.

I don't want to wake up one morning and wonder what happened to all of those little moments.  You know the one....like playing with play-doh in the living room and getting it stuck to the couch or going outside to get into the van before an appointment and the baby lays down in the middle of the biggest puddle in the drive way (this actually happens way too often...you think I would have caught on by now) or the trail of clothing left on the kitchen floor because the child who is about to start school likes to strip down to her undies as soon as she gets home!

These are the things that I keep talking about.  This is what makes documentary family photography so special, so important and  so necessary.  It's your story!  No one else has a story like yours...you're moments are special.  Let's document them!

I wrote a little bit more about this as a guest post on Hello Dear Photographer.  Go on over there and have a little peek!  Don't miss a moment ;)

Sunset at Salmon Beach ~ Bathurst NB

It's not often that we get to go out without the kids in tow and this night was no exception so we made the best of it.  Our friends brought their children; they played on the beach, ran wild in the yard, bumped heads in the dark and danced their little hearts out on the deck to the guitar music!

We are so grateful for wonderful friends who are understanding and also see the need to sometimes let the kids stay up way too late and have a little summer time fun!

Thanks for the great night guys!

Pregnancy Announcment Session at Daley's Point ~ Bathurst Maternity Photographer

Lately, I have been shooting a lot of documentary and lifestyle family photo sessions in Moncton. I love those sessions to pieces but when I was asked to shoot this cute little pregnancy announcement session I was eager to see what this creative momma-to-be was going to come up with!

Momma planned out the details of how she wanted this session to go...right down to the last detail!  We met at Daley's Point in Bathurst, NB and traveled around the trails to find just the right locations!  Luckily, this family knows the trails well and let me in the right direction.

At sunset, we made our way down to the beach.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer night!

Congratulations Vanessa, Matt and Holly on this new season in life.

A Sweet Lil' Country Wedding at Blueberry Hill Farms ~ Moncton Wedding Photographer

Some of my favorite events to photograph are small, intimate weddings.  You know, the ones where you feel like part of the family by the time you leave at the end of the night?!  This country wedding was exactly like that!  We met at the house for a few portraits before heading to the venue at Blueberry Hill Farms just outside of Moncton in Elgin, NB.  Congratulations Melissa & Bruce! High School Senior ~ Grad Sessions

The 2016 grad year is a wrap!  It was such a beautiful year for grad photos...beautiful weather, beautiful flowers, beautiful grads!

I have been anxiously awaiting for grad ~ senior photos to catch on in this part of the world like they have in other countries and they finally seem to be!  And for good reason!  Senior portraits help mark one of the most pivotal milestones in your life.  This time between childhood and adulthood.  You've worked for years to earn that diploma and you have the world at your feet.  If there was ever a time to have your portrait taken, it is now!  Besides, you'll never be this young and carefree ever again...that translates into some gorgeous photos and a reason to celebrate what makes you stand out from the rest of your graduating class!

This spring I was asked by @Julie Audoux Photographie if I was interested in shooting a senior session with her in an apple orchard...in full bloom!  Of course I was interested!  We had 5 senior girls from Ecole Mathieu-Martin in Dieppe, NB meet us at the orchard for a cute little sunset portrait session.

Congratulations grads of 2016!

Now Offering Sessions in Bathurst N.B.

My husband Dean is from Bathurst, NB.  Every summer we spend weekends up there at the camp and at his family's home.  The kids love our time at the camp because we get to cook over the fire, have s'mores every night and stay up really late watching old home movies.  We also spend a lot of time at the beach...my husband fishes for mackerel and the kids run wild.  The little ones are always begging to go to the splash park as soon as we unpack the van and the older ones can't wait to find that soft serve ice cream that comes in a million different flavors!

Since my husband is from Bathurst, we spend a lot of time there, especially in the summer and since most of our friends live there, it only makes sense for me to open up my business to include the northern part of the province.

I am excited to already have a few family and maternity sessions booked for this summer in Bathurst, NB.  If you would like to book a maternity, newborn, family or engagement session with me, send me a message and we'll discuss which dates are available.

I also have a few dates left for weddings for this summer.  I am looking forward to exploring where this new venture will take me!  Thank you to all of my clients for being so supportive!

Country Grad Session...with a Pony!

My baby sister graduates this year.  It hardly seems possible.  So much has happened to fill up these last 18 years but at the same time, it feels like just yesterday that she came home from the hospital.  There's a 14 year age difference between us so I remember all of the details of her early life.  How sweet and vibrant she has always been...How since the moment she came home from the hospital, she has been in the barn helping with chores!

This girl was fearless when it came to anything that had to do with horses.  Often we would find this little toddler in the middle of 6 horses out in the pasture trying to snap on a lead line and go for a walk.  She couldn't actually use the snap so she would just wrap the lead around the horses' halter and they would follow her where ever she went!  We were terrified whenever this happened...she was the happiest when she was with the horses.

Congratulations Lisa!  I am sure you will shine and continue to be fearless no matter what you choose to do!

A Day at the Farm! - Moncton Family Photographer

Horses have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.  So when my momma asked if I could take some photos of them with their horses, I was all for it!  Mom said she had never had a photo taken with her and her horse that she really loved.  That made me sad and set the bar really high!

Dawn + Kids & Critters - Moncton Lifestyle Family Photographer

I've had this friend for as long as I can remember.  She's the kind of friend that you get into mischief with when you are young and who will take the fall for you if the moment calls for it (thank you!) The one who always has your back even when life gets busy.  Do you know what I mean?  One of those special friends that you can go a long time with out talking to each other but easily pick up where you left off the next time you meet for coffee!
