An Afternoon With an East Coast Mermaid! ~ Moncton Photographer Tara Geldart

I met with Crystal from East Coast Mermaid for a coffee a few months back and we chatted about local business and how some really great things can come from something so unexpected!

Don't Miss a Moment ~ The importance of Telling Your Family's Story

I bet I am not alone here...I say it all of the time and I hear others say it as well....my babies are growing up way too quickly.  They are changing everyday and they have these little quirky things about them that I know are not going to last very long.  

I don't want to wake up one morning and wonder what happened to all of those little moments.  You know the one....like playing with play-doh in the living room and getting it stuck to the couch or going outside to get into the van before an appointment and the baby lays down in the middle of the biggest puddle in the drive way (this actually happens way too often...you think I would have caught on by now) or the trail of clothing left on the kitchen floor because the child who is about to start school likes to strip down to her undies as soon as she gets home!

These are the things that I keep talking about.  This is what makes documentary family photography so special, so important and  so necessary.  It's your story!  No one else has a story like yours...you're moments are special.  Let's document them!

Pregnancy Announcment Session at Daley's Point ~ Bathurst Maternity Photographer

Lately, I have been shooting a lot of documentary and lifestyle family photo sessions in Moncton. I love those sessions to pieces but when I was asked to shoot this cute little pregnancy announcement session I was eager to see what this creative momma-to-be was going to come up with!

Momma planned out the details of how she wanted this session to go...right down to the last detail!  We met at Daley's Point in Bathurst, NB and traveled around the trails to find just the right locations!  Luckily, this family knows the trails well and let me in the right direction.

At sunset, we made our way down to the beach.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer night!

Congratulations Vanessa, Matt and Holly on this new season in life.

MoneySense Magazine Names Moncton as One of the Best Places to Live in Canada!

A few weeks ago, I received an email from the photo editor at MoneySense Magazine asking me if I would be available to shoot a couple for them for an upcoming article!  At first I was totally shocked...ok, at first I wasn't sure it was for real!  Once I checked it all out to make sure it was the real deal (I may be overly cautious!) then I got really excited!  

I've had to keep it hush hush until now while I was waiting for the article to be published.  MoneySense Magazine has named Moncton, NB one of the best places to live in Atlantic Canada. The article features an interview with Sergio and Kaisa, a young couple from Brazil who are attending NBCC in Moncton about why they chose Moncton above other communities in Atlantic Canada.

Moncton Photographer ~ Top 100 in Shoot and Share Photo Contest

I have some great news!!!  Back in January I submitted photos to the Shoot and Share Photo Contest.  I really wasn't expecting much since I knew that the talent submitting to the contest was top notch but I decided to try anyway; at the very least, I would be able to gauge how my images stood against other professional photographers.  

This contest saw entries from 120 different countries with more than 225,000 photos being entered from top level pro photographers!  

I am thrilled to share my top images with you!

Every Photographer had a chance to enter 50 images into 25 different categories.

Out of my 50 images 27 earned a placement in the top percentiles!

Yay!!! Finalist! - Moncton, NB Photographer

Got some pretty sweet news in my inbox today :)  A few of my photos finished in the top 3.5% of the Shoot and Share 2016 Photo Contest!  Yay!!!  I have to wait until the end of the week to see which of my images made the cut but until then, I'm thrilled to be a finalist!  There was 225,000 images submitted to the contest from all over the world.
